Bett 2023: Three Key Reflections from an EdTech Solution Organisation

Posted 04 April 2023 by Molly Patrick

Bringing together educators, policymakers, and technology companies to showcase the latest developments in edtech as well as conversations to share thoughts, ideas, and best practices – Bett 2023 took place in London on 29th-31st March.

With over 600 innovative Edtech providers under one roof all showcasing cutting-edge and impactful products and services, the event created a real energy within the sector and it was truly inspiring to be part of it!

In case you didn’t make it to Bett this year, we’ve summed up our three key takeaways:

1) People are seeking answers for AI learning in education

As hot topic of the week, it was clear that people are very much looking for guidance around AI and Chat GPT in education. AI and machine learning is enhancing the education sector by providing personalised learning experiences, enabling adaptive assessments, and automating administrative tasks and we as a sector, need to embrace these technological changes. No matter how much AI in education evolves, we believe AI cannot replace the emotional and social intelligence that human teaching bring to the world of learning.

2) The future for EdTech is thriving

The pandemic has accelerated the adoption of educational technology, but it’s clear many learners and organisations still lack access to essential digital tools and platforms. Bett 2023 underscored the need for more investment in edtech to address educational inequalities and bridge the digital divide. By investing in edtech, learners can have access to the necessary tools and resources to succeed in a digital world. Edtech providers have a huge responsibility (and opportunity) to be accessible to all and with the unique position of FE Tech in the market, it is our jobs to make sure the latest etdtech products are reaching those who need it.

3) There is still confusion around finding the perfect EdTech providers

Bett 2023 highlighted the importance of collaboration and partnerships between educators and edtech companies to ensure that technology is used effectively in the sector. We know the sector needs to work together to identify the best digital tools and platforms to enhance teaching and learning experiences, but it was clear that some are overwhelmed with the product offering and are looking for professional guidance.

The latter is one of the most exciting points for FE Tech.

Why?

Well, FE Tech is the UKs only dedicated portal where Further Education employees responsible for the use or implementation of learning technology can search for the most appropriate solution for their industry – we are a hub for learning technology.

Not only can FE Tech provide accurate and up to date information of all learning technology solutions for the FE market, but it can be the voice for new innovation and thought leadership instead of it being lost into generalist sites for education.

As we move forward, it will be critical to continue innovating and collaborating to ensure that learners and educational institutes have access to the best tools and resources to succeed in a digital world – and FE Tech are proud to provide a one of a kind, expert guidance to help organisations find the best solutions…and what’s best is the guidance is completely free.
