DfE’s EdTech Impact Testbed Pilot: A Chance for FE Providers
An important opportunity we wanted to highlight for colleges and training providers across England.
The Department for Education (DfE) has launched the EdTech Impact Testbed Pilot — a national project to
identify and evaluate innovative technologies that can:
- Reduce teacher and administrative workload
- Improve learning outcomes for your learners
- Increase inclusion for students with SEND
The purpose of the pilot
- Identify EdTech tools — finding promising technologies with the potential to enhance teaching and learning.
- Generate evidence — supporting EdTech organisations to collect robust impact data, helping colleges make informed decisions.
- Test the testbed — exploring how best a future testbed can be designed to deliver on these aims.
Benefits to your college
- Early access to trial innovative tools before wide adoption
- Evidence-based insight into what works in FE settings
- Influence on development so solutions reflect colleges’ realities
- Contribution to sector-wide change through shared best practice
Deadline: 1 September 2025
